« back to classes page
Mid-July through early August is the perfect time to do vegetable planting for a crop of Fall and Winter vegetables. You'll discover which vegetables produce satisfactory crops by Thanksgiving (and some even later). Topics covered will include: direction of planting rows for maximum Fall sunshine exposure; soil mechanics (how to maximize oxygen to plant roots, how deep to plant); water-wise guidelines; how to deal with the effects of Fall wind on plants; and when to harvest. In class, you'll plant a small container of herbs to take home.
